Abstract

Village governments who dare to use village funds for the construction of complete public facilities such as village libraries need the support of all parties. The village library with its sources of information, creativity, and innovation of programs and activities is expected to encourage the creation of community empowerment, preservation of local cultural wisdom, improvement of community literacy, expansion of access to information, and movement towards an intelligent, dignified, and prosperous society. The method of community service is carried out by implementing action research and the partner village model. There is participation from the village government, the community, and universities in the form of assistance in developing village libraries, instructions for managing library materials, counseling on the role of libraries, and accessing information to develop community literacy skills. Good cooperation and coordination need it between the Village Head and various community organizations in his village, with the Central Government, and with the District and Provincial Public Libraries as well as efforts to formulate library development strategies, library empowerment, human resources, infrastructure, funds, and well-programmed promotions so that the purpose of establishing the Seng Good Library can be achieved successfully and well.
