PENATALAKSANAAN PADA DIABETIC PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHIC PAIN (DPNP)
Abstract
Penyebab diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP) masih belum diketahui, dan nyeri yang dirasakan
dapat sangat hebat sehingga mengganggu aktivitas. DPNP tidak dapat disembuhkan, tetapi untuk
memperbaiki kualitas hidup, perlu diberikan terapi untuk mengontrol nyeri, yaitu dengan memberikan
obat topikal, obat oral, serta tindakan non-farmakologi lain (akupunktur dan transcutaneous nerve
stimulation). Diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP) mengenai sekitar 10% sampai 20% dari 20 juta penduduk
Amerika yang menderita diabetes mellitus (DM) (1,2).
