Fish farming with a cage system is inseparable from various obstacles that threaten sustainability in terms of economic, social, and environmental aspects so that the role of both individuals and groups is needed to overcome these sustainability threats. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between group roles and the sustainability of freshwater fish farming in Cengklik Reservoir, Ngemplak District, Boyolali Regency. This research uses quantitative methods. The method of determining the research location was purposive, with locations in Sobokerto Village and Ngargorejo Village, Ngemplak District, Boyolali Regency. The population was 48 people with census sampling. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation, and interview methods. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the role of the group as a farm production unit with the sustainability of freshwater fish farming because the value of t count (3.409) > t table (2.012 and 2.687).
