Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement of Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA) is based on the guidelines and standards developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The relevant responsibilities and expectations of authors, reviewers, and journal editors are as follows.

Authors' Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA), authors warrant that the manuscript is their own original work, has not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis), and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submitting authors are responsible for ensuring that publication of the article is approved by all co-authors. Authors also guarantee that the source of any ideas and/or words in the manuscript that are not their own is properly attributed through appropriate citations and/or quotations.

Authors should not submit or publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in multiple journals. Such redundant publication is considered unethical publishing behavior and, if discovered, may result in the rejection of the manuscript under consideration or the retraction of a published article.

Authors of manuscripts claiming original research must present their work in a scientifically significant manner. The accuracy of the work performed must be accompanied by an objective discussion of its significance. Scientific data must be accurately represented in the manuscript. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work for further research. Falsifying results and making fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical misconduct and may lead to the rejection of the manuscript or the retraction of a published article.

Manuscripts must include details of all commercial software, hardware, or other products used. Authors should also disclose the sources of financial support for the research in the manuscript.

Authors are fully responsible for obtaining written permission to include any images or artwork for which they do not hold the copyright in their article, or to adapt such images or artwork for inclusion in their article, to avoid ambiguity.

Authors are entirely responsible for obtaining written ethical approval to conduct any research involving human and/or animal subjects.

Authors' names should be listed in the article according to their contribution to the research, and all authors are responsible for their own contributions. Only individuals who have made substantial contributions should be listed as authors; those whose contributions are indirect or marginal (e.g., colleagues, supervisors, or heads of institutions/research centers/labs) should be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgments" section of the article. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the article, and that all listed co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and agree to its publication.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers volunteer their services to Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA). Reviewers are free to decline invitations to review specific manuscripts at their own discretion for any reason (e.g., workload and/or other commitments, time constraints). Reviewers should not accept manuscripts for review if they feel unqualified to evaluate them.

Reviewers who have accepted a manuscript assignment must commit to submitting their review within the specified timeframe.

All manuscripts accepted for review must be treated as confidential documents and should not be disclosed or discussed with others except with the editorial office of Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA).

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not use them for any personal gain.

Reviewers are encouraged to express their views clearly, explaining and justifying all recommendations they make so that authors do not perceive the feedback as personal criticism. Reviews should always aim to provide detailed, constructive feedback to improve the work, even if the manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication.

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors, along with instances where proper sources have not been provided.

Reviewers are encouraged to promptly inform the editor if they are aware of significant similarities between the manuscript under consideration and other published articles or papers.

Editors' Responsibilities

Editors are the primary communicators between reviewers, authors, and the publisher. Editors play a key role in handling any information received, as well as complaints or errors raised by authors or reviewers. The editor's decision is final regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript for publication.

Manuscript Decisions

Editors are responsible for the overall content and quality of the publication, which can be ensured with the assistance of reviewers and the relevant authors. Editors implement processes that promote accuracy, significance, originality, completeness, and clarity in research work.

Fairness and Integrity

Editorial decisions should be based solely on scientific merit, relevance to the subject, and the journal's scope, and not on financial considerations, race, ethnic origin, or other characteristics of the authors.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts accepted for review must be treated as confidential documents. Editors and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the relevant authors, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Acknowledgments and Conflicts of Interest

Work submitted in manuscript form should not be used in any way by the editors in their own research. Editors must avoid any conflicts of interest between staff, authors, reviewers, and board members. Editors should be guided by COPE flowcharts in cases of suspected misconduct or authorship disputes.

The Editor-in-Chief of Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA) has the primary responsibility for deciding whether a manuscript submitted to the journal should be published. This decision is guided by the journal's policies as determined by the editorial board of Jurnal Ilmiah Sosio Agribis (JISA) and is constrained by applicable legal requirements related to defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The Editor-in-Chief may consult with members of the editorial team and reviewers when making decisions.
