This study analyzes the time allocation and influencing factors for rice farmers who adopt a dual-income strategy by integrating freshwater fish farming in Padang Jaya District, a Minapolitan area in North Bengkulu Regency. Using a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis, the research aimed to assess working time distribution between the two activities and identify determinants of labor allocation to fisheries. Results indicate that farmers spend an average of 119 hours monthly on rice farming and 151 hours on fish farming. Key factors significantly influencing the allocation of working time to freshwater fish farming are motivation for fish farming, perceptions of rice farming profitability, and farmer age. In contrast, formal education level and the number of dependents were found to have no significant effect. The findings highlight the viability of integrated agri-aquaculture systems and underscore the importance of intrinsic motivation and economic perceptions in labor diversification strategies within Minapolitan zones.
