About the Journal

The Journal of Urban Sociology (JUS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal in the field of sociology. JUS is published biannually (April and October) by the Sociology Laboratory, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya (UWKS). The primary mission of JUS is to provide an academic platform for the dissemination of original ideas and research findings in sociology, with a particular emphasis on the analysis of social life in urban and urbanizing societies. The journal conceptualizes "urban" as a sociological context that reflects modernity, social differentiation, and structural transformation. JUS publishes original sociological research addressing issues of social inequality, politics, culture, religion, identity, power relations, gender, and environmental concerns within urban and community settings. The Journal of Urban Sociology is equipped with ISSN 2620-5211 (Print) and ISSN 2656-3339 (Online), and is officially registered with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) prefix 10.30742.

Focus and Scope
The Journal of Urban Sociology (JUS) is a scientific journal published biannually by the Sociology Laboratory, Department of Sociology, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. JUS focuses on the development of sociological knowledge through the publication of original research and critical analyses addressing social dynamics in urban and urbanizing societies. JUS positions "urban" as a sociological context that reflects processes of modernity, social differentiation, inequality, and structural transformation. Accordingly, the journal welcomes studies examining social issues within urban, peri-urban, and community settings, as well as comparative analyses across diverse social contexts.
The scope of JUS includes, but is not limited to:

Peer Review Process
Journal of Urban Sociology is a journal published by Study Sociology Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University. Each article submitted to the Journal of Urban Sociology Editor will be checked on the suitability of the format and scope with the Journal of Urban Sociology, thena peer review will be conducted with atleast 2 reviewers in accordance with the scope of the scholarship or topic. The results of the review willbe returned to the author and the author must make a revision. If the repairis enough to meetthe rules to be loadedthen the article will go into the next process, but if not yet the editor will return the article to the author for repairs again. Each worthy article must also meet the permissible equality limit of 15%.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
